Montréal live. A city in perpetual motion. A city that pulsates. A city exposed before your very eyes. Ultramodern skyscrapers reaching out to the skies. And Mount Royal looking majestically on, offering its approval. Always spectacular, Montréal is as exuberant by day as it is by night. This view is taken from Île des Soeurs. Don't miss this exhilarating slice of Montréal's life.
In order to maintain the mountain's prominence in Montréal's skyline, the city generally does not allow skyscrapers to be built higher than Mount Royal. Currently, only the Saint Joseph's Oratory, a place of worship and pilgrimage on the northwest side of the mountain, stands 232.5 metres (762.8 feet) above Mount Royal.
